Freshie Racing set for big summer in Europe

The Freshie Racing Team made up of Peter Nicholas, Travis Keay, Jay Halligan and Luke Payne are embarking on a match racing tour of Europe. This is a great opportunity for them all to try and reach the top level of world match racing. The team is supported by Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, Zhik and the Ron Tough Yachting Foundation. This is the first team from the yacht clubs youth squad to head to Europe after the squad had impressive results over the Australian summer.

The Freshie racing team had a great summer also with a 2nd in Collin Mullins and 4Th in the Warren Jones regattas. The most recent event was the state match racing championships where they finished 2nd behind Team Gilmour. With the recent ISAF rankings being released last month puts the team in the top 100 in the world. The first event that the team is competing in is the Estonian Open Match Race, which begins next weekend in Parnu.
